Morning sessions: Setting the stage for insightful discussions

The day started with a gathering of enthusiastic volunteers who discussed the day’s highlights and ensured everything was in place for a seamless experience. The venue opened its doors to the first visitors at 8 AM, creating an atmosphere buzzing with anticipation.

At 9 AM, Jan Scheele, the host of the event, took to the stage. He warmly welcomed the attendees, expressing gratitude for their trust and presence. He then introduced the first speakers of the day, Pankhuri Bansal and Edwin Rivas. Their talk focused on the adoption of Web3, exploring its potential and challenges.

Following this, David Palmer and Joris Huynh delved into the adoption of blockchain technology for enterprises. Their discussion highlighted the transformative potential of blockchain in various industries and the steps enterprises need to take to embrace this technology.

The third talk of the morning was centered on the challenges facing Web3. Reinier Bredenoord and Birgitte van Haaren shared their insights on overcoming these hurdles, providing valuable perspectives on the future of decentralized web technologies.

Concluding the morning session, Christian Rau and Hakim Raja delivered a delightful talk on the transition from traditional finance (TradFi) to decentralized finance (DeFi). Their discussion underscored the paradigm shift in financial systems and the opportunities it presents.

Coffee break and networking

After an engaging morning, attendees enjoyed a short coffee break. Breakout rooms hosted various speakers discussing a range of subjects, providing a more intimate setting for detailed conversations and networking.

Afternoon sessions: Deep dives and dynamic discussions

Post a delicious lunch, the afternoon session kicked off with a quiz featuring incredible prizes, adding a fun and competitive element to the day. Aaron van Wirdrum then took the stage to speak about the origins of blockchain, tracing its development and impact over the years.

A panel discussion followed, featuring key figures from Dutch exchanges and brokers: Elke Karskens, Peter Curk, Ramy van der Nagel, and Jullien Vallet. Their conversation provided a comprehensive overview of the current state and future directions of the blockchain industry in the Netherlands.

Next, Marcel Burger, Jos Lazet, and Maurice Mureau shared their expertise on investment strategies in the blockchain space, offering practical advice and insights for budding investors.

The second session concluded with a presentation by Roy van Krimpen from the main sponsor, OKX. His talk emphasized the importance of innovation and support from major industry players in driving blockchain adoption.

Final session: Convergence, policy, and real-world applications

After another coffee break and more breakout sessions, including one with Vince van Hoesel, one of the founders of SBAN, the final session of the day began.

Rik Rapmund, Hugo Feiler, and Slavik Baranov engaged in a conversation about convergence, discussing how various technologies and industries are coming together to leverage blockchain. Joao Rodrigues Frade then spoke about policy, shedding light on the regulatory landscape and its implications for blockchain technology.

The final speaker of the day, Jaap Harmsma, captivated the audience with his talk on real-world asset tokenization, exploring how blockchain can revolutionize asset management and ownership.

Wrapping up: Networking and celebrations

The event concluded with networking drinks at the venue, offering attendees a chance to connect, share ideas, and explore potential collaborations. For the real die-hards, an after-party provided an additional opportunity to network and catch up with fellow crypto enthusiasts.
